How to Create a Product Catalog From Your Online Store | Foldsquare

How to create a product catalog from your store

This guide takes you from an empty account to a published catalog in about five minutes. The video is the same walkthrough, uncut, and each step below links to its chapter.

What you need

You need your products in one of two places.

If you sell on a platform, install Foldsquare and your products sync in automatically:

Wix support is coming soon.

If you do not sell on a platform, sign up directly at https://www.nowinstore.com/register and add products by hand or by CSV. Step 5 covers this.

Either way, the free plan is enough to build and publish your first catalog. No credit card.

Step 1: Pick a template (0:40)

Templates are grouped by industry, including fashion, jewelry, food, furniture, and cosmetics.

The template sets your starting layout, typography, and product grid. Nothing here is permanent, so if you are unsure, pick the one closest to your product photography and adjust later.

Step 2: Add your logo and colours (1:16)

Set your brand colours and upload your logo before you add products. Doing it in this order means every product page picks up your branding as it is built, instead of you restyling pages afterward.

You can also upload custom fonts here.

Step 3: Add your products (1:54)

With a connected store, your live product list is already there. Filter by collection, product type, vendor, or tag to narrow it down, then select what you want in the catalog.

Products flow onto pages automatically using the template layout. Reorder them, move them between pages, or add and remove pages from the page panel.

Because the catalog is connected to your store rather than a copy of it, price, image, and inventory changes carry through on their own after you publish.

Step 4: No store? Manual entry and CSV import (2:29)

Skip this step if your store is connected.

You have two options:

  • Add products by hand. Best for a small catalog, or when you want to publish quickly without preparing a file.
  • Import a CSV. Upload your file and map your columns to Foldsquare's product fields.

One thing to know about CSV import: images have to be reachable at public URLs. If your product photos live on your computer rather than online, the import will bring in your text and pricing but not your images. Add those by hand afterward.

CSV import is desktop only for now.

Step 5: Replace the covers (3:00)

Every template ships with a placeholder front and back cover. Swap them for your own artwork, or edit the existing cover with your logo, a season name, and a background image.

The cover is the first thing a buyer sees when you send the link, so it is worth the minute it takes.

Step 6: Set your product information (3:35)

Choose which product fields appear on each card: title, price, compare at price, SKU, barcode, description, variants, vendor, product type, and more.

This is where a retail catalog and a wholesale line sheet diverge. A lookbook you send to customers might show only the product name and price. A line sheet you send to buyers needs SKU, variants, case pack, and wholesale pricing.

Step 7: Publish and download the PDF (4:36)

Publishing gives you three things from the same place:

  • A shareable link to the interactive catalog, which you can send to anyone
  • A print ready PDF
  • An embed code for your website

Once it is live, the Analytics tab shows views, page performance, product clicks, and where your traffic is coming from.

If the catalog contains wholesale pricing, protect it with a password so only your buyers can open it.

Troubleshooting

My products are not showing up. Check that your store connection is active under Settings. Products added to your store recently sync via webhook and should appear within a few minutes.

My catalog will not save. Very large catalogs with many high resolution images can fail to save. Try splitting the catalog in two or reducing the page count. If it keeps happening, start a live chat with your catalog name and we will look at it directly.

The CSV upload will not open on my phone. CSV import is desktop only. Import your products from a computer, then edit from any device.

I have catalogs in the old Catalog Maker app. They are not migrated automatically. Start a live chat and ask us to migrate them for you.
